Coil-over front suspension Conversion
This conversion replaces the conventional torsion leaves from the VW beam and in place you have some solid 20mm connecting bars. On either end of these are some stepped washers which fit inside the end of the trailing arms and centre the rods, then there are some flat bearing washers and finally a nylock nut which has a grub screw to finally lock it in position. When the urethane bushings are installed the rods are tightened until the bushings are compressed slightly and then locked.

In place of the usual dampers are fitted a pair of AVO coil over shock absorbers fitted with 1.9" springs, these are adjustable for height with the threaded lower spring mount and the damping has 22 adjustment settings. The springs are easily swapped over if you want to change the stiffness, at the moment I have 110 lb, 12" springs made by Suplex.
You can see in these photos that I have put some tape over the top rod, this is because the bars were supplied by Legend too long and they were coming into contact with the front tyres, I will cut these down soon.
So far I can't really comment on how big an improvement it is, there will be a lot of tweaking needed with so many adjustments!
