Nice website - looks like you've come a long way. Eons ago,
I remember you banging the hell out of your first Beetle's
seized brakes with a length of scaffolding tubing at your
dad's place! It took ages and even I had a go! Judging by
the assumption that you haven't had a serious RTA, it looks
as though things are a bit more high-tech now.

to build a 1957 Speedster, the difference being I plan on
constructing an aluminum body instead of fibreglas. I am
building the wooden buck over the next few months on which
I will shape all the aluminum panels on. This method was
used by Autokraft AC cars way back in the 60's and is still
used todasy by a few kit car builders here in NorthAmerica.
There is an article covering the story in KITCAR

Cool conversion - looks mad! – well done sir
I have a four year old speedster made professionally by
Chesil which Ive owned since the new year –
It is a daily driver and used throughout the year –
Light blue with dark blue interior and hood & white dials
& clock - its cool and we love it !
It has a 1600 Injection Catalysed Mexican beetle engine
which is a little tame but still fun - I have been
planning a future conversion to either a Gene Berg lump or
even a Porsche conversion all of which are working out
expensive on paper –
After seeing your site I may opt for a conversion to
something else !!
Very cool - keep up the updates !
