I now have a UK spec 1998 Subaru Impreza turbo engine that has come from an Impreza that looks like it ended up in a ditch, sideways. At least its heart is getting another chance!

For actually fitting it I will probably use an adapter plate and flywheel from KEP in America and I will keep the stock transmission until any bugs are sorted out and then get a strengthened one. Because of the location of the turbo I will have to move the left radiator forwards, what I am going to do at the same time to improve the cooling is do use new radiators and fully enclosed ducting from under the car, they will get moved infront of the axles at the same time on both sides.

Here is the donor car, it wasn't actually too bad but the shell was terminally damaged to it was beyond economic repair. Here is the ignition which has the immobiliser transmitter built in, this communicates with the ECU so can't be left out! These are pics of the engine as I got it.

You can still see the steering pump and Air Conditioning pump that I no longer need

Here is the engine without the spare bits that I no longer need (for the moment anyway, the air con may be needed if I ever live anywhere warm!). I just have to find a smaller belt now as the alternator belt used to be shared with the power steering.
